Scholarship Types Listed by Campus China

Understand the six scholarship categories in the official Campus China directory and how to verify whether a listing is current.

The Campus China scholarship directory uses six categories. Use them to narrow your research, then open the individual notice and confirm its publication date and current application status.

Chinese Government Scholarship

This category covers national scholarship programs administered through defined cooperation or university routes. The correct application authority depends on the program.

Local Government Scholarship

These awards are associated with a province, municipality or city and often connect to participating universities in that area. Local rules and university implementation can both matter.

Confucius Institute Scholarship

Campus China retains historical listings under this label. More recent directory entries refer to the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship and a different responsible organization. Applicants should identify the current name, portal and annual notice instead of following an older listing.

University Scholarship

This category includes awards established or administered by individual institutions. Some are intended for new applicants, while others recognize currently enrolled students. The university's current international admissions site is the final source.

Enterprise Scholarship

Enterprise-sponsored awards may be connected with a particular university, field, degree or workforce objective. Confirm the sponsor, host program and any conditions beyond normal academic admission.

Other Scholarship

This category contains programs that do not fit the other directory groups. Verify the responsible organization and official application channel carefully.

Check whether a listing is current

Before using any directory entry, confirm:

  • Publication year and intended intake
  • Whether the linked application page still exists
  • Whether the program has been renamed
  • Whether the host university still publishes the award
  • Whether benefits, eligibility and deadlines have changed

An official archive is reliable evidence of what was published at that time, but it is not automatically a current application notice.
