Campus China is the official Study in China portal operated in connection with the China Scholarship Council. Its scholarship guide is a directory: it brings together national, local, university and other awards, while each individual notice defines the rules that apply.
This channel is in editorial review. Some Campus China directory entries are historical. Use them to understand scholarship categories, then confirm current eligibility, benefits and deadlines in the latest program or university notice.
Six categories in the official directory
The Campus China scholarship guide organizes listings into:
| Official category | What it can include |
|---|---|
| Chinese Government Scholarship | National scholarship programs and defined cooperation routes |
| Local Government Scholarship | Awards connected with a province, city or local authority |
| Confucius Institute Scholarship | Historical listings for Chinese-language education awards; check the current program name and authority |
| University Scholarship | Awards created or administered by individual universities |
| Enterprise Scholarship | Funding sponsored with an enterprise or for a defined program |
| Other Scholarship | Awards that do not fit the preceding directory categories |
The category is a starting point, not proof that a listing remains open for the current intake.
The official Campus China workflow
Campus China connects four research tasks:
- Find the scholarship category and notice.
- Search participating universities and programs.
- Use the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System when the selected route requires it.
- Review pre-arrival, arrival and study guidance after admission.
You may still need a separate university application or nomination. Follow the current notice for the order of steps.
Start with a route, not a headline
For each opportunity, record the official title, scholarship category, responsible authority, application channel, eligible programs, coverage, required documents and every deadline. Two awards described as “full” may cover different items or use entirely different routes.
Funding and admission are separate decisions
A scholarship application does not automatically complete university admission unless the current instructions explicitly combine them. Check whether you need a university application number, pre-admission document, nomination or separate submission.

Keep the source trail
Save the Campus China listing, the latest program notice and the receiving university's instructions with the date checked. If a directory entry is several years old, do not reuse its dates, award amounts or eligibility rules without a current official confirmation.
