Fudan University publishes several scholarship routes for international students, but they are not interchangeable. The responsible platform, eligible degree, funding package and application sequence depend on the scholarship and program.
2027 application status: Fudan had not published a unified 2027 scholarship notice when this page was reviewed. The official notices summarized below are for the 2026 intake. Use them to identify possible routes and prepare documents, but do not reuse their deadlines, eligible programs or award terms for a 2027 application.

Chinese Government Scholarship University Program
Fudan's 2026 Chinese University Program notice was for international applicants to master's and doctoral programs. It identified the CSC application as Type B and gave Fudan University's agency number as 10246. Applicants were required to use both the CSC system and Fudan's international student application system.
The 2026 notice described a full scholarship covering tuition, on-campus accommodation or an accommodation subsidy, comprehensive medical insurance and a stipend under the applicable Chinese Government Scholarship standard. It set an application period from October 13 to December 10, 2025. That period is historical and is not a 2027 deadline.
Applicants should first confirm that their intended graduate program is included in the current scholarship notice. They should then follow the document and submission rules in both systems, because completing only one application does not satisfy the route described by Fudan.
Shanghai Government Scholarship
Fudan's 2026 Shanghai Government Scholarship notice also covered international master's and doctoral applicants. It described support for tuition, on-campus accommodation or a subsidy, medical insurance and a stipend. Applicants used Fudan's application system and submitted the scholarship form specified by the university.
The 2026 application period was October 13 to December 10, 2025. Funding scope, eligible programs and dates can change with a new intake, so a 2027 applicant should wait for the new notice before treating any of these terms as confirmed.
Specialist Chinese Government Scholarship Routes
Youth of Excellence Scheme of China
The Youth of Excellence Scheme of China is a specialist Chinese Government Scholarship route rather than a general funding option for every Fudan master's program. Fudan publishes a separate annual notice identifying the relevant program, applicant profile and procedure. Applicants should verify the designated course and experience requirements in the notice for their intake instead of applying the general University Program rules.
Atomic Energy Scholarship Program
Fudan published a separate 2026 Atomic Energy Scholarship Program notice on April 6, 2026. This route is tied to designated nuclear-related graduate study and has its own academic scope and application instructions. It should only be considered after confirming that the current notice includes the applicant's intended program and background.
China Studies Program PhD Fellowships
Fudan's China Studies Program notice describes fellowship routes for overseas scholars pursuing China-related doctoral work. Because degree study and research arrangements may follow different procedures, applicants should check the annual notice for the precise category, host arrangements, language requirements and duration that apply to them.
The 2026 notice was published on December 29, 2025. Its schedule and conditions are evidence of how the route operated for that intake, not confirmed terms for 2027.
International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship
Fudan issued separate 2026 notices for three study routes:
- a bachelor's degree in Chinese;
- a Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages; and
- non-degree Chinese-language study.
The routes differ in study level, language evidence, duration and application requirements. Applicants should use the notice for their exact category and verify the current application window through the official scholarship platform and Fudan's instructions. Older Fudan overview pages may use the former name “Confucius Institute Scholarship”; the current annual notices use International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship.
Scholarships for Current Students
Fudan's International Students Office also maintains a scholarship overview for enrolled international students. It lists national, municipal and Chinese-language scholarship support and notes continuing obligations such as annual scholarship registration and feedback.
Those general statements do not establish that every current student can apply for every award. Enrolled students should follow the latest notice from the International Students Office and confirm renewal, annual review and reporting requirements directly with the responsible office.
Build a 2027 Application Plan
- Choose the exact Fudan degree, program and teaching language before comparing scholarships.
- Match the program to one scholarship notice; do not assume all routes cover the same degrees.
- Check whether the route requires the CSC system, Fudan's system, a specialist platform or more than one submission.
- Prepare academic records, language evidence, recommendations and other admission documents early, while waiting for the 2027 notice.
- When the new notice appears, recheck eligibility, funded items, agency details and deadlines against the official page.
- Submit through every required channel and retain the confirmation from each system.
