High-Level Graduate Program Framework

SYSU's published 2024 guide describes a full scholarship for master's and doctoral study. It covers tuition, on-campus accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance and a monthly living allowance. The guide lists CNY 3,000 per month for master's students and CNY 3,500 per month for doctoral students.

The 2024 framework required master's applicants to hold a bachelor's degree and be no older than 35, and doctoral applicants to hold a master's degree and be no older than 40. It generally required HSK 5 with at least 180 for Chinese-taught study, with higher language requirements for the Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages.

Application Route

The detailed guide used two online systems:

The Chinese Government Scholarship Information System under Type B with SYSU agency number 10558.
The SYSU online application system, selecting the corresponding Chinese Government Scholarship graduate route.

The earlier-cycle file included identity and degree records, transcripts, language evidence, two academic recommendations, a study plan of more than 1,000 words, physical examination results, a recent non-criminal record and signed declarations. Documents outside Chinese or English required the original and a notarized translation.

Do not prepare a 2027 application solely from that earlier list. Confirm the current program catalogue, document validity periods, supervisor requirements and both submission channels in the 2027 guide.

Prepare for the 2027 Cycle

Choose the intended degree, teaching language and scholarship route.
Open the route-specific notice from the SYSU scholarship directory.
Confirm that the notice explicitly applies to 2027 entry.
Check whether the application is submitted through SYSU, the CSC system, a dispatching authority or more than one channel.
Use the current notice for the deadline, program catalogue, language threshold and required documents.
