Beijing Normal University groups its international applicant funding into Chinese Government Scholarship routes, China studies and Chinese-language awards, Beijing Government funding and several BNU scholarships. The submission sequence depends on whether an external scholarship body is involved.

Chinese Government Scholarship Routes
Type A
Type A applicants first contact the responsible dispatching authority for nomination. They then follow the current BNU admission brochure, submit through the CSC and BNU systems, provide materials to the bodies named in the guide and wait for both BNU and CSC review.
Type B
Type B applicants follow the current BNU admission brochure and submit through both the CSC and BNU systems. BNU reviews the university application before the final scholarship process is completed. The route should be selected only when the intended program is included in the current Type B call.
China Studies and Chinese-Language Scholarships
Applicants to the China Studies Program or International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship use the relevant scholarship system together with the BNU system. These routes serve different study purposes and may require different recommending institutions, academic plans and language evidence.
BNU Scholarships
BNU groups the Beijing Government Scholarship, BNU New International Student Scholarship, “Silk Road Muduo” Scholarship and The Belt and Road School Scholarship under the BNU application process. The Belt and Road School award is limited to prospective students of that school.
For these routes, applicants follow the current admission brochure, apply through the BNU system, upload the required materials and wait for the university decision. Award coverage should be checked in the intake-specific notice rather than inferred from the scholarship name.
Application Sequence
- Select the BNU program and read its current admission brochure.
- Identify whether the scholarship needs an external system in addition to the BNU system.
- Submit consistent program, identity and academic information in every required system.
- Provide paper materials only when the current guide explicitly requires them.
- Track the BNU system and the external scholarship system until both reviews are complete.
Please note before application
BNU's scholarship overview confirms the route structure and application sequence, but complete 2027 deadlines, funding levels and detailed eligibility rules are not yet published for every award. Use the current admission brochure and scholarship notice for the selected program.
