Chinese Government Scholarship: High Level Postgraduate Program
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health. The published age limits are 35 for master's applicants and 40 for doctoral applicants. Students in joint development programs are not eligible, and recipients may not hold another Chinese Government Scholarship at the same time.
The award covers tuition, comprehensive medical insurance, a living allowance and on-campus accommodation. If on-campus accommodation is unavailable, eligible recipients may apply for the published off-campus accommodation subsidy. Confirm the exact amounts and duration on the live notice before applying.
The application uses both the Tongji international student application system and the CSC system. In the CSC system, select Program Category Type B and use Tongji agency number 10247. Tongji charges a non-refundable application fee of RMB 600 for this route.
The page states an application window of October 25 to December 20, 2026, but labels the admission term “Fall 2026.” Because that term conflicts with the publication timing and surrounding 2027 entries, applicants should obtain clarification from Tongji before treating it as the confirmed intake label.

Marine Scholarship of China
Tongji lists a dedicated 2027 Marine Scholarship of China call with downloadable application materials. Use that call for the eligible disciplines, funding terms, documents and deadline; do not transfer conditions from the general postgraduate scholarship.
Tongji and Shanghai Scholarships
The Tongji University International Student Excellence Scholarship and Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship are separate award routes. Applicants should compare the eligible study levels, program language, funding category and renewal terms in each notice before selecting an option in the university system.
